Recommended Mic for doing Narration and Voice Overs

[kat.hayes]

What type of mic would you recommend for connecting to a Onyx 1220 mixer for doing voice overs and narration?

Could a handheld mic such as :

OR

Work for this? If not, what would you recommend and what about a filter for it?

Thanks.

I'm using an Audio Technica 4040 for my VO recordings, or a Schoeps 641, depending on the setup. The both work very well. I do have a pop screen that I use with both.

I use an Electro Voice RE20 - left over from my days in radio.
I can't tell you if its the best...but I do know virtually every radio station I've been in has them.
That doesn't really mean anything usually though.
