Recommended hard drives?

I'm looking to buy a hard drive strictly for editing/storage. I will be editing on a computer away from my house (campus') and was wondering if someone could suggest an HD. I will be editing footage from an A1 XH on g5 macs with FCP. Some of the footage will be shot in HD as well. Thanks.
 
A quick question, can I use this both for windows and mac comps without reformatting each time? Thanks.
 
To use it on both you can format it as Fat 32. That's not a great solution, but does work. I've haven't really put it through the paces, but there is also software solutions like Mac Drive for Windows. I had good success with that in the past, but haven't used it in a long time, and never tried to edit off it (or something of equivalent stress).

Definitely- in truth there's no easy solution to a drive that you want to go back and forth Mac Pc. My suggestion would be simply not to do it. If you want to transfer between a mac and PC the best way is very a network.
