nice. where can I find this stick? looks like it's separated into 4 threaded attachments. however, this seems more for like a sports GoPro user rather than a 10-16 foot fishing style pole that I could attach to a base and do traditional jib work

The scourge of all extreme sports event photographers…the GoPro on a stick. Just when you think you're getting a clean shot of the action, there's some yahoo with a GoPro on a stick right in front of you blocking your shot.

The aforementioned stick is a piece of bamboo. Very light but doesn't break down very well, unless you can figure out a way yourself.

If you want it to telescope, I might suggest a painter's pole or the pole from a light bulb changer. http://www.acehardware.com/product/index.jsp?productId=1291468&cp=2568443.2568454.2632229.1259128

I actually use one of these as a boom pole, with the microphone's shock mount cobbled together from clothes hanger wire, duct tape and rubber bands. I shot two features with the mic rigged that way.
