Recommendations on head for Konova sliders?

501 Manfrotto used.

Use just the head off this Fancierstudios system

I used the Weifang head found on the Fancier sticks as well. You can get the head on ebay for about $85 but for a few extra dollars it probably cant hurt to get the sticks as well.

I saw one reviewer on you tube using a Manfrotto Grip style head which I thought worked pretty well.

I saw Tom Guilmette using a Manfrotto Magic Arm (143N I think) with his Camera and a Kessler slider which should also work with the Konova Base plate. This would be my top option and I plan on getting one to use with my Konova slider

Here is the video - the Manfrotto arm is featured at about 6:15

This model FC-270A is a Fancier sold under the brand CowboyStudio and gets great reviews. The whole system is only $149.00. I've been looking at getting it just for the head for my CineSlider.

This set looks killer. Any idea of this fits a manfrotto 502p plate? It looks like it should fit either the 501p or the 501pl (the wider longer version). That would be an awesome replacement for my 701hdv but i am already using manfrotto 501p plates on all of my rigs (jib, shoulder mount, etc).

I'm also using all manfrotto quick release plates.

I doubt it will work but you never know. I'm stuck in the Monfroto QR world and I'm thinking about going to a Really Right Stuff Acra Swiss type 1.5" dovetail setup. I already have two QR and a few plates 1.5" dovetails. These are so much better than the Manfrotto stuff. The Acra Swiss quick release is a standard and is for the most part universal with other 1.5" dovetail QR systems.

I agree that the Arca swiss style is really nice but once you are invested, you are invested, you know? The only thing i would really appreciate would be to easily have an l plate on a camera to both protect it and be able to shoot in portrait. From what i have seen i cannot find a manfrotto 501 style l plate.

Edit:
I take that back, they have L plates but they go the wrong direction. The camera would have to be mounted sideways on the tripod head in order for the plate to be useful.
