Recommendations for small lights for ambient lighting?

I want to take some photos and videos of products and toys, and I want to create some colored ambient lighting to put in the background. I can borrow small light sources like these https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/884130-STUD/genaray_led_7500t_320_lamp_variable_clr.html

and

1. Anyone have experience with these types of lights? Is the quality of light sufficient for background ambient lighting?
2. I'd also like to possibly put gels over them to change the lighting. Thoughts on doing that with these types of lights?
3. If I choose to just buy something, does anyone have any recommendations for small RGB lights that I can get?

Thanks.

Your links don’t work for me. I think because you were logged-in under their educational site and your links go directly to/through that. And going through the app it just says product unavailable with no other info.

We’re actually kind of discussing “RGB” lights on the adjacent thread.

A couple months ago I bought a little Falcon Eyes PockeLite F7. RGB Cost $130 or so; available from a bunch of places. It's pretty nice, flexible, and useful.

I've used it as a hair light and on backgrounds and to quickly light a nighttime street scene for a kinda hairy doc. Haven't used the fun/silly special effects. Pretty good battery life (easily two hours at sub-max brightness), but the internal takes a while to charge.

Can't compare it to similar lights made/branded by Aputure and others. Lots of YouTube reviews, but ̶l̶e̶t̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶v̶i̶e̶w̶e̶r̶ ̶b̶e̶w̶a̶r̶e̶.̶.̶.̶ some of those reviews seem to have more hype than insight...
