Looking for a wireless mic solution; the receiver at the camera end needs to be as light as possible, since it's on a stabilizer. And, most receivers I've looked at seem to be XLR at the mic end, but mini-phone at the camera end; are there any affordable systems that offer XLR into the camera...?

depends on the money , the cheapest is g-2 from Sennheiser ,then you have lectro 100 and then audio ltd or micron for few thousand $, very light divercity receivers , excellent quality .
if you can find audio 2000( used ) thats the wireless for you , not divercity but excellent sounding and good range, you can find in 1000$ range or less.
on the other hand , you can use mini rover( or similar box for wireless mike) under the camera and stuck 211 or 411 lectrosonic - and that would be the best money to quality .
but as we know - you will eventually will go for the cheap , so the g-2 is very cheap for what it does
