Recommend some Spanish-lanugage films ?

I am working on my Spanish for my current job & a planned assignment in South America. I took some Spanish in college, and a current refresher course. I would like to watch some good movies to go with this.

I'm not fond of horror or fantasy, I like realism--dramas, noir, action, Oscar bait.

I saw one on IFC w/Javier Bardem where he was a quadriplegic who wanted right to die, can't remember the title, but a good movie. Any more like this, that would show Latin culture as well ?

All suggestions appreciated ! Jeff

The Sea Inside is the title of the Javier Bardem movie.

Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown (Pedro Almodovar) is great fun (most of Almodovar's films are pretty great, if you dig his style).

Pan's Labyrinth (well, El Labirinto del Fauno) is also darned good. It veers in and out of fantasy/horror territory but it's no monster/slasher film (and it was in fact Oscar(tm) bait...)

Our Lady of the Assassins is tough stuff but very good, too.

Also Y Tu Mama Tambien.

Most recent "Under the same Moon" about a boy who leaves Mexico on his own to find his mother who is working in America, it's about his travels and experiences before he gets there. Its' quite good and very realistic about immigration experiences in this country for Mexicans. I use to hear these stories all the time from people I worked with at hotel. I'd recommend this one.
