please recommend an "affordable" monitor with scopes & rgb parade.

i know "affordable" is a moving target, different for each person.

i know that many will suggest a marshall, a smallhd, a tvlogic or the new odyssey line.

i shoot with the sony fs100 which has hdmi.

i probably should future proof by adding sdi-hdmi.

i'm hoping that someone will suggest an option that i have not already taken a look at.

thanks in advance to those who care to share.

be well.

One to watch is ManhattanLCD. No WFM/scopes/RGB parade though but can be had really cheaply via their "refurbished/b-grade" deals on the website... We have the HDMI 8.9" HD PRO and are very happy with it.

We have also just ordered a TVLogic LVM 074W for our C300 rental. Must be the most versatile 7 inch monitor out there.
What convinced us: Loop through of everything (but SDI to HDMI), B&W peaking option, waveform and audio indicators, magnesium alloy, matte finish and auto HV flip mode. Wished we could get the ultra-bright SRM version but had to act quickly...
Ordered the dedicated V-Mount back as well. Also coming - the Ultralight Control Sistems magic arm.
The big question "why choose TVLogic over smallHD" is answered in a heartbeat - quick access to almost everything via the front panel buttons !!! A no-brainer...

Have you looked at the Samurai Blade by Atomos for $1,295? Scopes, RGB parade, and HDSDI input. You can also get an HDMI to HDSDI converter from them for $295. Not sure if that's out of your particular budget, but it's a great monitor / recorder for the price.

For $1295 there is the Odyssey7, which will be available very soon. It has waveform (luma & rgb parade), vectorscope, histogram (luma & rgb parade), false color, three types of focus assist, pixel zoom, HDMI & SDI in/out with full cross conversion between them built in, and a 7.7" OLED display that is the best in any small monitor in the industry. Oh and by-the-way, it is also an excellent video recorder.

Ikan D5W. It has everything you're looking for. It's under a grand. Been using one for a year now and love. Might sell it though to purchase an Alphatron EVF since I shoot with BM cameras now and they are impossible to use outdoors.
