I agree with Jeremy on the Azden thing. I bought their dual channel jobbie, and while the quality of sound is darn good, the cut-outs are, delicately put, extremely annoying. I'm in this forum today to search-and-gather info about the most recommended wireless lav setup because yesterday's wedding I shot is officially peppered with cutouts while the officient is speaking. Always backing up my audio, I had my shotgun pointed at the action also. And I was literally less than 10 feet from the transmitter. I'm going out to B&H now to get that combo pack that was recommended. I'll keep the Azden for backup (you always need backup).
On a side note, my Sennheiser shotgun (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/con...969&is=REG&addedTroughType=categoryNavigation) is great. For anyone searching for opinion on shotgun versus on-board mics, here's mine: Good (a.k.a "expensive") mics offer enormously better audio. Any penny spent on this mic will be worth it, guaranteed. And that's not advertising, it's opinion.
