recommend a mic for my dvx100b!

The sound from my dvx100b onboard mic is mediocre i would like to get a better sound but not spend TOO much money but something decent too look into! what do you guys use as an external mic? any input would be great! thanks

I have the Rode NTG-1 which is the exact same mic as NTG-2 but without internal battery. And yes, I like it a lot.

I use an AT897.
its cheap and awesome...only $289 retail.
and it is awesome for interviews, on boom poles, and concerts.

No need for NTG-2 if you are only going to use it on your DVX or some other camera with phantom power. The NTG just sounds wonderful, haven't tried the audio techinca thing, but I'm sure that's great too.

I loooove my RØDE NTG-1.
