Recognizing vcr MODE

Hey guys I want to dump some stuff through my DVX's firewire via a crappy Hi-8 camcorder connected through RCA's, problem is Vegas wont recognizne the footage playing through the camera screen as a recordable source as to where it does when you have it in camera mode and regular playback mode. Please help quick i only have the Hi-8 camera for a short time, thanks!

Try disabling DV device control in your capture settings. This allows for "live" capture. You'd do the same if you wanted to capture live feed from your DVX.

If Jubal's suggestion doesn't work you may have to first dump the Hi8 footage to DV then do a firewire transfer from the DV copy......

ok guys heres how you do it. You can capture anything using this method as long as you can connect it to your dvx Go to playback mode in your camera settings select dv output and turn it on. Then like Jubal said. Disable your dv device control settings and viola your ready to capture full resolution from any device with cords
