Rechargeable battery pack for Firewire drive

Hi everyone,

Has anyone discussed/seen this product before? (I couldn't find anything on a search) It's a rechargeable battery pack, originally meant to replace a camcorder's battery pack, but it's 5 volts, same as a Lacie firewire drive I believe.

It might be a bit off, cause a Lacie drive is 2.5 amps, but this product looks like it's 1.5 amps, but I don't understand this stuff and am not sure it matters anyway.

Could someone with more technical experience shed some light on it?

Hi d-mac... I ran into this same unit a while back, here's the post and thread... some interesting discussions above and below it...

It should work just fine with any of the smaller 2.5" external enclosures... don't know about the Lacie.

Thanks for that! sorry to repost about the same topic. (I did search, guess not well enough)

lots of interesting information there!

also, it'd be nice if someone made a page listing devices that have been tested to work with the HVX. I guess this might have to wait until more people actually use it, huh.
