The XL2 with the $300 rebate at B&H is priced at $3099 and the A1 is $3249. For $150 more wouldn't you just buy the A1? I guess if want to use other lenses maybe.

I would get the A1 over the XL2. You can still shoot in standard on it if you want. I personally liked it much better when i got my hands on it, that is compared to the XL2's I used to work with.
