Really stop-motion or great 3D work?

The youtube description claims it to be stop-motion, 1500 hours worth :Drogar-Shock(DBG):

I say lies! The motion and lighting are too perfect... must be 3D work. If it is stop-motion, wow they have a lot of skill. edit: If it is 3D, wow they have a lot of skill! Either way, these guys are damn good

To me, this definitely looks like true stop-motion, with superimpositions in some shots (e.g., at around 1:07). Look at the shadows, variations in lighting intensity, movements in the guy's clothing, etc. Those all indicate actual stop-motion to me. (If it's 3D animation, those "imperfections" ironically would indicate EXCEPTIONAL skill!)

I love stop-motion and have done it since '84. This was fantastic.
I saw no 3D in it whatsoever.

I don't see any 3d, just great stop motion. Very telented fellows. Considering how smooth it was, it must have been done at a high enough fps. Most stop motion done by the average person will be about 12 fps maybe a bit more, and will be slightly dodgy. True masters can come out with something like this. Wow.
