Wanted to test out my new mic, see thread about a Really cool shotgun mic, and needed a cheap XLR cable to modify. Stopped at Gutair Center and they had 20 foot cables on sale for 6.95. Bought 3 of them. Salesman told me to check the solder joints. Depending on whether Hung, Dung or Fung soldered them, they may need attention. Otherwise they seem to work fine. The one I opened seemed to be soldered quite well. Once the metal shell was removed and the plastic housing filed back a bit, it went right on the Electro Voice Cannon UA-3-14 connector like it was made for it.
