Electrical box and a cheap magnifying glass from Ace...

Cost less than 5$, including screws...

I suppose you could use a different mounting bracket. Something like teddybear did...

I am now on the lookout for some kind of eye cup for it. Painted it white, but may go back over it in black. I put some masking tape over the gap that shows through (as the box is slightly too wide) to block the light before I painted it.

This was my first attempt, but the box is oh so very close to the perfect size...

How much of the body does it cover? In other words, how much "overflow," or how much bigger than the screen is it?

And also, what size electrical box is it?

maybe a 1/4" over? I used some masking tape to cover up the overflow area and then spray painted it. Not sure on size, they were the standard sized electrical boxes with nails in them to nail to studs.

I plugged some of the "punch out" holes with masking tape as well before painting. Its not pretty but it works fine.

You can rest it to your face and it helps support the camera. I'd still like to get an eye piece from something, maybe a broken cam or binoculars or something...

Hmm.. might take a trip to OSH sometime soon and scout it out. I think I'd shave it a bit just for a more "streamlined" look. Maybe something more like the Zacuto, LCDVF, etc.

THe edges are decently sharp, enough to focus with for sure. You could always find a better magnifier and test it out by putting it over the hole.

The one I got didn't say, it was kind of an oddball in the display.

Until I get a good lcd loupe solution I bought some 3+ reading glasses for 5 € / 3,50$. They don't really magnify, but everything gets much more apparent to your eyes and judging sharpness becomes managable. Plus I look really sophisticated with them :)
