The Real To Reel International Film Festival is in its 17th year, I see.

I was on the board of that festival for its second year. Back then the festival was held in Shelby, NC, as it is produced by the Cleveland County Arts Council, which is located there. That year it was a very cool event! We watched a ton of submitted films -- shorts, documentaries, animation and feature films -- from all over America and the world. Some were good, some were great! The festival itself was a multi-day event that started with a kickoff party with a celebrity guest -- "Dawson's Creek" actress Nina Repeta. https://www.facebook.com/nina.repeta?fref=ts

There was a silent auction of all kinds of items, including a script from the movie 'Titanic'. Attendance was great, and it was so rewarding to be among such a large group of movie lovers.

The festival soon outgrew its venue and moved to the Joy Performance Center in Kings Mountain, NC, where it remains to this day. It just keeps getting better and better.

If you're interested in going, the festival will be held July 27-30, 2016. If you've got a film you'd like to submit, there's still time. I plan to enter "Tangled Web" in the festival this year. If it gets accepted, I hope you will all come and support the great people who made this movie happen.

Even if it doesn't get accepted, this is still a great festival for all of us film buffs. Hope I'll see some of you there!
