Real time Loop playing?

I'm currently using Acid Pro , but I am looking for something that will allow me to map specific loops to a midi keyboard and then play them in real time and record that. I was looking into Intakt/Kontakt but I wasn't really sure if that's the best choice or even if it will do what I want. I've already tried one of their demos but thought I'd ask... thanks

What I used to do was used soundforge to create the loop and mapped it out in Vienna and saved it as a soundfont. Then I would just import it in cakewalk and use the loop via midi keyboard. I've never used Acid pro so I don't know how you would use midi. I thought it was waves based.

it is, thats why im looking for something else. I think Acid 5 you can create midi events but not what im trying to do...
