Real telekinesis!

The wire on the guy is very clearly visible from the high angle, which seems hard to miss in person. And the servos on the chair and table wheels would likely have made some sound, masked by the music.

I just watched the first bit instead of skipping ahead, and they even show a large number of actors in the audience. I think they're meant to make up for the real customers, most of whom are going to be surprised at sudden movement. I doubt anyone of them consciously thought this was an actual telekinetic attack of some sort, they just hadn't had time to decide. Even if they knew it was a prank with wires, they didn't know why and it could have been malicious- hence the sense of fear involved and desire to leave.

Pretty sure they're all actors. That "poppyseed muffin with butter" guy wasn't terribly convincing.

So much of this stuff is totally bogus. I keep my default setting on "totally fake."

BTW, the tables are apparently on radio-control wheels.
