Reading the Scopes..

Is there a way to read the scopes in real time? For example I wanted to check my levels on my waveform monitor that came with FCP. Every time I paused playback the levels would change. However when I started playback they would not move at all. Flipping back and forth to check levels got old real quick!

I know you can on capture.... but I'm not so sure about viewing a live scope from the timeline.

I guess that would be a nice feature though....
