"read/write" speed of SDHC

Just wondering -- I primarily use Sandisk's Extreme 3 Class 6 SDHC cards for my HF200 for which I'm recording data at 24mbps.

I randomly noticed that the card's tech details state "Fast 20MB/sec sequential Read/Write speeds".

Does that have any effect on the data rate at which I'm recording to the card or just the rate of transfer between the computer and the card? I previously understood it only to pertain to the computer-card connection, but I just wanted to clarify that here.

thanks!

If it works, it works, lol....I'd delete this post and trust in the juju.

lol, but seriously, I use newegg's user reviews to find my TRUE data rates for cards, which are often lower then manufacturers specs....I also use the manufacturers recommended speed rating, along with wiki's listing of memory speeds, and go one step higher ATLEAST.

It should be the maximum rated speed of communication to the card. 24mb/sec is equivalent to 3MB/sec, which a class 4 card could easily handle. It is nice in terms of transferring the data, to have a Class 6 card.
