re: Zoom H4N with Juiced Link (Best

Hey everyone,
I bought a Juiced Link for my Zoom H4N and was wondering if anyone has ever used the two in conjunction with each other. If so, what settings did you use?

Also, has anyone tried using an 1/8" jack to two channel XLR splitter to send two separate channels of audio to the H4N's XLR inputs?

What I really like about the H4N is its ability to record 4 channels of audio and I'd hate to lose that with the Juiced Link to H4N set up.

Thanks!

Well, for starters you could just plug the juicedlink into the 1/8" mic-in on the back of the h4n, then you still have the XLR's free.

A possible added benefit of doing that is I've read that the 1/8 mic-in has less self-noise than the XLR inputs.

I wouldn't doubt that's a phantom power issue. People have mentioned that using the H4N's phantom can sometimes bring in additional noise.

As will recording using a single mic connected via XLR with phantom power on - the other channel records a relatively high level of noise. This may be caused by the unterminated XLR input. Plugging in a second mic, but leaving it turned off apparently reduces this noise.
