Dbl check your audio video preferences... FCP should 'see' the deck and even tell you what kind it is.

everything is cool is sees the deck. I didnt see it listed in my AV settings though.

Does it work as fast as a beta deck? or is it just as slow as the camera for importing footage. I want to be able to scroll through footage quickly. Thanks

Not sure I haven't used it to import footage yet. I am trying to work out a timecode issue with it now. For some reason the timecode that I wrote down from the camera is off by one number when playing the tape in the deck and you know with something like that it will throw the whole capturing process off!
