Re: Slow mail order

Ahem, the ones swimming around San Onofre are Great Whites, you know the kind that attack without warning. Are you gonna go video tape some since they are babies. Saw an underwater housing on display at VMI when the Panasonic reps were there.

Still wouldn't catch me out there swimming around with them :)

Re: Slow mail order

I surfed venice beach for years, LA. I always thought about Great Whites. I was told over and over it was not possible. Guess they were wrong. Crazy!

Just come to FL. We have shark attacks once a week. Not much of a fan of being on the news (as a victom), but that would be some great footage to get.

Re: Slow mail order

You are a brave soul to go after those fish without a cage. I've spent half my life surfing (Sunset Cliffs, Ocean Beach, Del Mar) and have my own tales of shark sightings.

I've had a shark (don't know what kind) swim right under me while I waited in the lineup for a set. Talk about the heebee jeebees (Did I spell that right?).

I've had a shark 'trolling' the surface no less than 20 yards away from me as the sun was setting and I was chillin, waiting for a set.

Hell, I've been hit by a stingray walking out into the water (That **** hurts. Imagine a ballping hammer slamming you into your ankle ball) Anyway, that's what it felt like.

I admire your eagerness to get out and shoot them! I used to dive (long time ago) and have seen some big fish underwater, but never any sharks.

At least go witha buddy if your going to go out and shoot!

BTW - I Don't surf anymore; for those of you paying attention, wife, child, business, film goals, kind of leave room for that out!

Re: Slow mail order

That's Awesome. When I was diving (*certified; only went about 10 times) I saw, I think what was Groupers? They were these huge, curious fish. I mean, huge. I'd never seen a FISH that big.

Also, when I was in the U.S.C.G. on my way uo the Bering Straight, I was out on watch at night and the dolphins would always ride our bow waves. Anyway, check this out:

There was so much Phosphorence (spell?) in the water that these dolphins (about 6 of them) were lighting up as they swam through the bow wake. They were criss crossing and diving under the bow and swimming unbelievably fast, they were literally sorrunded by this luminesence (spell again?) green glow that left trails behind them. It is truly one of the most amazing things I have ever had the privledge of witnessing.

In fact, it is my goal to get it on film one day. 'Cause it really was a show... Lights, dolphins, amazing.
