re-inserting pulldown

ok so let's say i shoot some stuff in 24pa. now i remove the pulldown and am left with a native 24p file. if i just drop this into a 29.97 interlaced timeline and render it, will it automatically insert the standard 2:3 pulldown, or will it do something else? i have heard that FCP can't re-insert pulldown so i just want to see what my options are when it comes to mixing interlaced and 24pa footage?
thanks

Re: re-inserting pulldown

FCP wll add pulldown on Playback only. (i.e. you can playback to a video recorder or video monitor) Even cinema tools will not telecine pulldown. If it's in a 29.97 sequence it wil time stretch but not add true 24 pulldown.

If you plan on mixing 29.97 footage with 24 footage your best bet is to shoot 24p (not 24pa) and just edit in 29.97 sequence.

You're likely to need an effects package or other software to add telecine and save it to disk.

If you use a G5, you can add 3:2 when you output to tape. Otherwise you have to use software like combustion or Shake to add it. I'm sure there's other too.
