Re: H4N - skipping recorded audio

Re: H4N - skipping recorded audio

I recorded audio through a mixing board via the XLR input (bunch of speeches to stereo mono mix).

Out of the 8 files recorded, two had skipping every 3 seconds. What could be the issue?

I'm using Lexar Professional 16GB 133x sdcard.

Was the card in question formatted in the H4n prior to use? Most recorders will give an error message if the card is not formatted for a specific device and give an format execute option. again.. don't know about the H4n.
If that's not the case, I would guess the card as well.
I've also read that some audio recorders do not handle the hi-speed cards well. Don't know if - or which cards Zoom tested and verified 'compatible' with the H4n.

Yes it was formatted within the H4N. I've used this setup for two years now with no skipping issue. This was my first encounter and it happened twice. I did witness it saying Write Error during the day though.

Cards don't last forever. I'm still going with the card. I have had similar problems with old cards that saw a lot of use.
