re: Get low
Has anyone seen the film Get low? Overall, I was not too impressed as a whole (Other than Mr. Duvall and Mr Murray) but I was surprised by how nice the cinematography was. I am not sure how to describe what they did, but there was a painterly quality to the images, many scenes having practicals and very soft, white light coming in from the windows, while the actors were illuminated with soft amber light.
It also seemed Like the DP was very careful not just what in the frame was illuminated but where as often, whole portions of the frame were underexposed/black, almost Like a stage play.
Has anyone seen the film and can give their thoughts on the Look and how they accomplished what they did?
