Wow, hope this turns around for you. I know of several folks who are having no issues with this printer, and I haven't (knock on wood) had any issues yet.

I haven't printed that many discs with it yet -- something to look forward to? Hope not.

Re: Epson R300 bad QC?

I've had my R300 for a couple of months now. I've printed over 150 disks with absolutely no problems. The only issues I've had with the printer were when I used HP brochure paper. The ink didn't dry properly, and the print was very blotchy. Switching to Epson paper solved the problem.

Re: Epson R300 bad QC?

so true with the brand of print medium.. certain brands of paper, are formulated to work with the same brand of printer, the brands use different inks with different consistancies, and differnt amounts of ink to make the same image, so the paper is formulated to work with that type, and amount , and consistancy of ink.. youll almost always get the best results using the paper designed for your printer. somtimes some generic, o other brand works well though.

Im actually using the 300 to print the FIlter test dvd.. it works well but at first I was a little bonkos about the lame ass alignment arrows. But, I have discovered if you dont actually need to line it up... the printer automatically lines it up. Saves alot of time :)

Re: Re: Epson R300 bad QC?

I've printed about 75 discs with this thing by now -- no problems. In fact, I haven't even used up the starter ink cartridges yet.

Re: Re: Epson R300 bad QC?

Not sure what the original post was but heres some info on the Epson printers.

Certain disk give you a banding problem. This (from all the forums Ive read) is not because of the Printer. It actually looks to occur from the disk. I have done major shopping on printable disk and have found that it usually occurs on the cheaper disk. I have some Be-all's (which are no stacking Hub printable) and these seem to work awsome. They dont have as good of a print quality as the Ritek's but are very close.

Epson doesnt support most of the media and therefore wont comment on any of the banding issues. They just inform everyone to use the epson reviewed disk. The banding is usaually the most noticable on lighter areas of the print job, but dont fret because I can guarantee you that most of you prob didnt even notice the banding issue and will now run to your disk and look at them now to see if you can see the problem.
