Re: Cheapo LED Lights // Variance in Daylight Kelvin

Hey Guys,

I have LED lights from Fancier studio and I just got some new ones from China (no name brand).

The Fancier Studios are ~5500K. The ones from China are closer to 5900K.

Are there any filters I can buy to convert one to the other so they have matching Kelvin?

In theory, 1/4 CTB and 1/8 CTO should do the trick, but with cheap LEDs, i would be surprised if any one filter could match them. It's bad enough getting them to match tungsten or true daylight, getting one LED with a bunch of holes in the spectral output to match another LED with different holes in the spectral output could prove to be nearly impossible.

In addition to correcting the color temperature you need to measure with a color temperature meter how green the leds are outputting. I use 1/2 minus green gel on my fancier led always. Same with my coolights 600 panel.
