Are you capturing from a dv camcorder ie. via fire wire? If so, don't worry about the ati rage theatre, just the microsoft dv camera. As far as I have seen, there is no such thing as .dv. What you are captureing to is an NTSC-DV compressed AVI. AVI stands for audio video interleave, or something like that. It is not a codec by itself, rather a standard for video. When exporting to WIndows avi you then have choices as to which codec to use. When capturing from a camera the default should be NTSC-DV AVI. Basically, I wouldn't worry about your settings. IF VEgas recognizes your camera, your capturing to DV. Unless someone else has any more information on this subject that I havn't heard of.
