Re: Brand new user

select frame blending for slow mo shots.... I slow down shots all the time to 50% in 24P and 24PA mode and I have never had a clip look blurry. As for camera settings the best thing I can tell you is to just play with your camera! Go out and shoot some stuff then jot down your settings then change your settings to something else then come back and jot those down, etc. The purpose of writing them down is so you can you use that as a reference. You can also hook your camera up to a monitor and play around with the settings and you will be able to see the changes right then and there.

Getting the best quality depends on your settings, whether your using lights or not, using filters, an anamorphic lens....it all just depends so that is why I say to do some experimenting.

Re: Brand new user

Make sure your project settings are correct. For instance, you need to have "lower field" checked for standard 60i footage. If it is not, and you apply a speed change, it'll result in stuttering and unpleasant output. Also, it's possible you may just need to render your slowmo segments.

Just some thoughts.
also in FCP when I want to slow down a clip for example up to 50% after playback the modified clip turns all blury and it looks like low quality.
Maybe someone already said this, but after you change something to it make sure you render it or else it will playback in a lower quality mode. Once you render it, it should be better.
