RE: AT897 shotgun

Iam getting ready to buy a Senn Wireless mic and the AT897 Shotgun and have read some good reviews re: the 897. Just  wanted to know if anyone is using this shotgun and if so, what do you think about it. Thanks.

Re: AT897 shotgun

Look back further in this section and you will see much discussion about that microphone. I have used the AT897 for a couple of months now and think it's superb. However, my only point of comparison is a $100 Electrovoice XLR handheld and a $175 Sony shotgun mic. I've never compared it to the Senn or any more expensive mic. In normal contexts, viewers don't hear side by side comparisons. By itself, this mic sounds great, very professional.
