Everyone knows I am the zombie genre fan and have been stoked as of late with films like 28 Days Later, Dawn of the Dead 04 and Shaun of the Dead. What can I say? I'm pretty easy when it comes to the horro genre (a guilty pleasure?) and particulary whorish when I'm given the DEAD.

My wife recently brought home for me RE - Apocalypse. Unbeknownst to her I had no intention of renting this much less owning it. I had heard way to much negative press about this film.

We watched it last night as we settled in after Prime Rib and Chocolate Cake' still buzzing from the beer and Makers Mark.

This is one of the worst films ever made. They could not even get it right. I don't know about you, but if someone gives me a Production Budget of $45 million and says "Write a Zombie flick based off of the game..." I'm not going to screw it up.

This movie had ZERO ZERO ZERO plot. And about 5% of it was Zombies. The rest was pure crap. Bad filmmaking with the slow-mo staccato Zombie attacks, bad acting (Milla tried) beyond bad acting and an absurd scenario.

HOUSE OF THE DEAD was another horrible film. This film really really really was that bad.

And I'm easy.

I wanted to watch that after seeing it was out on DVD(wouldn't waste time seeing it in the theaters ;D) I guess it can wait now. Hollywood screws up another one.  >:(

It is honestly so bad I cant say it enough. Dont even waste your time renting. It was so bad. OMG. Serious. As bad as House of the Dead; maybe worse.

Great, now I'm gonna have to check it out. For some reason I like awful films - films that are trying to be serious but are pathetically laughable.

How this got greenlighted for a sequel to begin with is beyond me. It shows how starved Hollywood is for ideas that **** like this makes it's way into theatres.

I'll probably wait for it to become a 7 day rental before I watch it. I wouldn't be able to justify late charges on a piece of junk.

Resident Evil: Apocalypse was so bad that it made the first Resident Evil look like the original Dawn of the Dead look like Return of the Living Dead part II look like Resident Evil: Apocalypse, minus the "Apocalypse"...and the ":" ...and...err...God, I hate that movie.... >:(

Lets just pray Romero pulls a rabbit out of his butt and that the upcoming "Land of the Dead" will be the greatest...and hopefully last(for a while) 'walking dead' film.

EDIT: Make that zombie rabbit... :)

i saw the move the day it came out because i am a big resident evil nut, and yes it kind of have a plot, you would have to play all the orignal games from psone to fully like this film! the acting did suck i agree but i loved the action scenes thats why i bought it with my best buy gift card(And Open Water) and so you have to be a die hard fan of EVIL to like this film. ;)

I thought the first one was okay in a "Its a video game with zombies kind of campy horror film way...." But they dropped the ball on the first one as well. I liked it as a rental and do not own it or plan to own it.

The second one was ****. **** on a stick. And no, there NO plot and it had nothing to do with playing the original games. It was bad bad bad

John, I agree totally agree with you on this movie, but keep in mind:it was intentionally dumbed down since it new its primary target audience was going to be teeny boppers, and the movie series was NEVER intended to be Romero-esque in philosphy(although one of the producers said that Umbrella was more or less a combo of Microsoft and the U.S. Military) or a no gimmick "scare-the-****-out-of-you" type. Did Sienna Guillory(Damn what a fine woman!!) at least make it worth getting the movie for free?!

Sienna? Is this the Jill Valentine character? She was attractive but couldnt act her way out of a junior college.

actually I think it was the bad script dialogue and directing, not so much that Sienna(Jill)was a bad actress.

TO be fair; she wasn't the worst ever, but still B Category to me.
