When dealing with pins and sockets for supporting LED Lights, which should I deal with? 5/8" vs 1-1/8" ?

5/8" or baby is the standard for anything small. Basically, under the weight of a 1.2k HMI is fine on a baby pin. LEDs certainly shouldn't weigh more than a 1.2k HMI! Also remember that anything Junior (1 1/8" diameter) is going to be a much heavier and harder to use stand.
