RCA into DVX-100a

thank you all for not responding to this post.

i just figured out what a moron i am.

though, in my defense, i've never used rca, s-video, or firewire from my camera. so i never really looked under that precious little flap above the xlr inputs.

jeez...

Still, you might be better off getting XLR-to-RCA adapters and plugging into the "mic" jacks (with the cam set to Line).

But since I've never done that (or gone into the existing RCA jacks, for that matter), we might hope for someone more knowledgeable...

Good point. Yes that would be best, as well as being the only way you could do RCA in WHILE recording live video.

My way requires you to be in VTR, so if you want to be in CAM, you have to get an adapter/mixer. In VTR I think the RCAs change to "outs" and not "ins".

The RCAs are always out-only, unless you're in VTR mode and in Record mode at the same time -- at that point they function as inputs.

When in camera mode, only the XLRs can be used as inputs.

When in VCR mode, only the RCAs can be used as inputs.
