RC Battery for DVX/HVX ?

Has anyone ever made a battery for a Camera?

I've seen a lot of 7.2v RC battery on ebay and they are so cheap.
they go for like $25 for two 3800mAh batterys. (should hold 3~4 hours)

connecting the cables and the electronics isn't a problem but I'm just not familier with the memory stuff on batterys so is it safe to use these batterys for your camera? will my camera's memory be messed up or something?

another idea!!!

I'm finding lots of 12v batterys in stores and online for a good price, but they are 12v....

but if I get like a adapter/converter to make it 7.2v it should work right? any ideas or suggestions?

Yes, I use 3 cell, 10 amp LiPo batteries (11.1V average). I have a Dolgin voltage regulator for the cam and the battery goes straight into my Marshal monitor. I built an audiable alarm that sounds when the battery hits 9 volts as going below this will damage the battery. The charger I have will charge it in 80 minutes and I get well over 2 hours of run time.

If you go this route you must get a LiPo charger and balancer for the battery. Go to a hobby shop and do research. Also, MaxAmps.com is a good source.

Nice set up. this is exactly what I'm trying to do.
I've actually found a converter here that does 12v to 7.2v so I think I'll just get that for my camera or just make one myself. but thanks for the info http://www.dolgin.net/DCConverterPan.htm

I'm hoping I can use the battery for both my camera & monitor so I have to find away to make it have two outputs that has 12v on one (monitor) and 7.2v (camera) on the other so we'll see what happens...

The battery I'm planing to use is a 12v Lead Acid battery but does anyone have experience with this? I'm sure a 18amp battery can hold my camera and monitor for an all day shoot.??

by the way, what kind of handle is that? and where did you get that shoulder pad?
it looks like you made it but what kind of material did you use? I would like to know how you connected the handle to the rods too?
thanks
