Raylight

I'm getting ready to download Raylight to work with my Vegas Pro 80a.

Question is; after downloading Raylight - will I be able to JUST move my P2 files into Vegas Pro after downloading the P2 files onto my desktop or will I have to go through different hoops (files) each time I download film footage to make the P2 work?

No, just make sure you keep your P2 Contents folder and LastClip.text intact. Then, go into the Video folder and drag the MXFs in.

HOw do I get the raylight "quality setting" GUI to show up? Where can I find it? My footage is choppy and want to lower the quality for faster editing....

Depends on where you put it.

Look under C:/Program Files, and if it's not there, do a search for folders or files called "Raylight."

Raylight Question

I've always wondered about Raylight. From everything I've read, it is a great program for people using P2. For someone capturing from mini-dv and a firestore, is there any advantage to using it?

Hi David - I noticed that Raylight has four color choices (settings) for quality Blue, Green, Yellow and Red.

I read Greeches question about his footage being choppy and was wondering if I need to go with a lower quality for editing? I haven't downloaded Raylight as of yet but need to do so and want to make sure I do everything right and not run into problems

I will be using the 15" laptop from Sony with 3GB Ram, 250 Hard Drive and 2.0GHZ. I have the Vegas Pro 80a installed.

Thanks

Did you try adjusting the Vegas playback parameter? Try setting it to Auto. If you need HQ playback, set to Best and then half or quarter size. That seems to work for me and my HP laptop. I often work without even opening the Raylight playback control, so am not as well versed with it. The Raylight site has quite a bit of info abou it though.
