maybe this movie has been discussed already, if someone could lead me to a link. just seen this movie (i know im late), it was just great. great messages throughout the whole movie. foxx did an outstanding job.

Re: ray

Yea I actually saw it last week when I was home sick with the flu! I agree the movie is really good. Its better than I thought it would be.

Re: ray

Yeah, the open sequence is great where there is the reflection of the piano in his sun glasses. I thought it was great although some of the time it felt a bit like a tele-movie. Great music and a top performance makes this a must see.

Wow! Just saw it! It was an impulse buy so I wasn't sure about it, but man that film rocked! It was, hands down, one of the best biographical films I've ever seen. It was

- well balanced
- great played (jamie foxx made me feel like jim carey after "Man on the moon"),
- beautifully shot (skin tone was amazing)
- music: astonishing (one thing is to listen to it but to actualy see it being born... just great!)
- And the scene at the end where Georgia apologizes to Ray Charles made me cry (these types of scenes in courts, president's speaches, etc. always get me :) )

So to sum up: great movie about a great guy! Go and see it! If you haven't already... :)

//sorry to disturb but I had to :)

I thought it was a pretty good film. Although I think it played alot better on the big screen than on DVD.

Jamie Foxx was good. But the whole thing looked and played like a made-for-TV movie.

that is so wierd you say that. I love the film and cinemtography is great. But now that you mention it, you are right. I never really thought about it like that. But it does kinda remind me of those abc movies on elvis. They way it was cut and all really gave it that kinda feel. Just didn't really think about it before.

I saw it first on the big screen and was mesmerized by the music, i went on a ray charles spending spree on itunes. bought the dvd later.

Foxx was amazing, he really impressed me. He gave a performance I never expected. I literally forgot it was him until that scene toward the end, the flashback, where he opens his eyes and talks to his mom.

I liked the flick a lot and Jamie Foxx was great. I wouldn't reduce it to a made-for-TV movie, but neither would I call it one of the all-time great biopics. I dug it, but wasn't in love with it.

I've just seen this movie too since the dvd was out last month and it's real great! I would have never thought Ray Charles used to live that way....but it's awesome, I really love this movie
