A true legend and pioneer.

Sad. One of the greatest special effects men of all time, if not the greatest. Saw an interview with him done only a few years ago and he still seemed sharp as a tack. I've been looking for an excuse to watch my Jason and The Argonauts blu-ray. Guess I'll fire it up in his honor.

A great little montage of some of his work:

I am so sad to hear of his passing. His work on 'Clash of the Titans' made a really big impression on me as a kid when I'd stumble across it on TV on a Sunday afternoon. There was nothing as magical (and scary) as his creature animation. That Medusa sequence in particular was incredible.

A true master. He will be missed.

Maybe it's nostalgia, but I always enjoyed his stop motion compared to modern CGI. Medusa was great! His work is legend, so he lives on even in the afterlife.

Oh damn. I was always entranced by his work. Stopped me in my tracks on Sunday morning TV shows (or sometimes in the theaters). RIP one of the true genius' of film.

He will live on forever through his work. His magic worked on me when I was young.

Jason and the Argonauts (1963). One of my favorites. RIP Mr Harryhousen. Even the best have to go sometime.
