Raw 5 min Sequence to dvd?

I'm cutting a 5 minute short for playback on the net, but she wants just the raw, uncompressed sequence on a dvd, how would I export this, and will it most likely fit? Thanks!

Yes.

Okay, what you wanna do is go to the File>Export menu.

Save As a memorable file name, and then down where it says Include: Make sure Audio and Video is selected.

Then, check "Make movie self-contained." Depending on how graphics intensive your movie is and how your CPU is, it might take a long time.

Then, that file will be too large to fit onto a DVD. You want to go into the same project, and then go to the same Export menu. This time, leave "Make movie self-contained" unchecked. Make sure it's the same file name from the first one and give it the suffix "uncontained" (leave the .mov extension). This probably won't be too long of a render.

Then, in your iDVD, or DVD Studio Pro 4, (you don't want to create a burn folder because it will literally copy the file and you won't be able to use it.) Take the "uncontained" version and burn it. It will play in almost all DVD players.

If you do want her to have the WHOLE raw file and have access to it, you need to do something a little different. Make sure the computer that you insert the DVD in has Final Cut. Take the contained version of your exported movie, and then Control+Click, or Right Click on the desktop. Click on create new burn folder. Rename the folder to your desire, and then drag the CONTAINED movie into the burn folder. Insert a DVD and then burn it. It may be a problem with size.

Thanks man,
I'm not sure I understand though, it doesn't need to be played in a dvd player, she just wants the raw file so she can hand it to her web designer who can use his pwn compression and post it on the site, basically the raw version to hand off, not for viewing (i don't need to make menus or anything in idvd, just the data) does taht change the process? thanks!

SO, export it in a contained file. Do everything there... Attached is a screenshot of a burn folder.
