im wondering if any of you guys know a ballpark price for how much it would cost to get a music video color graded on a davinci. im assuming they charge hourly. anyone know how much? also, how many hours of work would you guess goes into a 3-4 minutes music video for a colorist?

thanks so much guys.

VPT in Dallas with Steve Franko (one of the world's best colorists) is $750/Hour on a Spirit/Pogal suite which is a bit more than a Cintel/DaVanci suite, per hour. Transfer on the older system is around $300, as I recall. These prices are for film-to-tape, of course. No idea what the price would be for MiniDV grading, or if they even do it.

Personally, I've been eyeballing Final Touch SD, it's under a grand and has many telecine-style corrections, including full bandwidth rendering and the coveted "power windows" just a DaVinci.

Mmm, I wish I had the cash for Final Touch. Let us know if you do get a copy. I'd love to know how well you like it! For the moment though Color Finess will have to do :).
