RAT F*** SON of a B******!

Re: RAT F*** SON of a B******!

John, find a lawyer. Explore the actions you might be able to take with the various persons/companies involved.

Re: RAT F*** SON of a B******!

John I'm very sorry to hear that. That totally sucks, I know that feeling. You want me to put out a hit on these suckas? I know people... No really, vengence is never a solution. All we can really do is just move on. You should put a survallence camera system. Who ever took your stuff will get whats coming.

Isn't this kind of thing why you are under "house arrest"?  :o

Re: RAT F*** SON of a B******!

I'm not into the whole Big Brother thing, but surveillance isn't a bad idea. Especially since it sounds like that new company will be bringing more lowlifes closer to your work.

Re: RAT F*** SON of a B******!

Rentor's insurance would solve all your problems in this situtation.

When I rented I had $15,000 worth of coverage for $150. Covered all theft. If I ran a business in a rented space there would be no question that I would do this again.

Re: RAT F*** SON of a B******!

Man, I am sooo sorry to hear about your loss. There is an especially special anger one feels when things like this happen. I had the same car stolen three times in one month, twice it was brought back by the theif and parked somewhere else near my parking space. The last time, they broke one of the windows and left a Gideon's bible and newspaper clippings of a woman who had been kidnapped and burned in my home city. Also had a rock thrown through my bedroom window... so yeah, there is an anger that exists just for these occasions.

Best of luck on your next purchase.

Terri

Re: RAT F*** SON of a B******!

Okay Terri, hold on... someone stole your car, and then brought it back? That's like... I mean... what was wrong with it? If a car thief steals your car and then brings it back, it must be like an old Pinto or Gremlin or something, right? ;D ;D

Re: RAT F*** SON of a B******!

;D Close...it was a '91 Dodge Spirit. People were using it to joyride in and smoke dope. All kinds of paraphenalia found in the backseat. I laughed when the cop asked me if it was my stuff. haha!!!

But seriously, thieves suck! Just a lowlife without a conscience to take what someone else worked hard to get.

Re: RAT F*** SON of a B******!

That reeks. I used to catch shoplifters at Wal-Mart back in the day. I was after this one crackhead for several months. One time he stole a whole case of phone cards from the store. I had him on camera picking it up off the pallet and taking it out the door. He sold it for crack. Then a week later the boxed was left at the store with my name on it and a note that said "We took care of it."

A week later I caught him stealing watches and gave him a little extra in the apprehension ;) . It was at night and when I got him back inside, I thought "Oh no, I worked him over a little too much." But then realized it wasn't me that had done most of the work. The cops came and told him, " We see you paid the price for the phone cards, but you're still getting charged."

Anyway, it comes around.

Re: RAT F*** SON of a B******!

Oh jeesh, sorry to hear about that.

I also recommend getting some cable locks for your system(s). They help stop the grab and run thieves.

Oh, and if you have a laptop, lock it in a desk or take it home.

And it's easy to blame the cleaning staff for stealing things but according to our security people it's almost never them.

You might consider setting up a dual boot system. Use one install strictly for your NLE setup. The other for the rest of the work.

That way you can optimize the system for the NLE, etc..

Re: RAT F*** SON of a B******!

Why do bad things happen to good people? :'(

Sorry to hear about your loss John. Atleast your talent and skills can't be stolen from you. You'll always have those.

Re: RAT F*** SON of a B******!

I hope nobody thinks I'm an opportunist stepping out on shaky ground...

That blows like the autumn leaves...thieves do suck. EVERYONE hates thieves...that's like ANCIENT hate right there...COSIMICALLY hated...thieves and liars are like the scum of the Earth...

guess that's why it was such a big deal that an innocent man suffered the humiliating death of a thief 'couple thousand years ago.

Hope that wasn't taboo or insensitive...And seriously, my heart goes out to you John!
