Ramp Speed?

I know how to change individual clip speed settings, but i was wondering if there is an easy way to ramp the speed, using Keyframes or something like it?

I don't think you can set keyframes for speed in Premiere. You can in After Effects and it works very well. If I need to ramp in Premiere...I cut the clip up into pieces, and adjust each segments speed accordingly.

Thanks. Using Premiere to do it that way would be very cumbersome. I've tried, but find it produces very choppy results. Not to mention if you want to make an adjustment you might as well just start over.

I guess exporting the clip to .avi, importing to AE, then rexporting and importing is one way to do it.

If you have PremPro 2 you can copy and paste the clip with a Dynamic link or else do it the way you suggest.

There is a plugin called Twixtor that does this effect with in PremPro.

jcheneier,
That tutorial works for panning and zooming, and I actually learned something from it...but not for adjusting the speed of a clip. From say 100% to 30%. Where the clip gradually slows down. Nice find though.

Best bet would be twixtor or Timewarp in After Effects 2.0.
