Raiders of the Lost Ark story conference

It might put me in a minority, but I like breaking a story out, especially with a like-minded writing partner, almost as much as—maybe actually more than—seeing the final result. That's why getting to read the transcript for the legendary five-day story conference between Lucas, Spielberg, and Kasdan about Raiders of the Lost Ark is pure bliss for me. I feel like the old lady (Rob Reiner's mom, in fact) who comments on Meg Ryan's fake orgasm in When Harry Met Sally.

I like that they never mentioned character arc and referenced characters who don't arc, like James Bond. This is something I'm discussing more and more with movies like Star Trek and The Social Network.
