Hi so I need a new external HD and I promised myself the next one I get will be a RAID one. I almost bought a G-tech g-raid before I realized it was RAID 0 which I guess increases video editing speed, but I wanted to get a raid drive more for reliability (though I do edit and don't want anything too slow). So is there any reliable/good RAID 1 mirrored external HD I can get? I want a minimum of 1TB + 1TB and around $250. There is one OWC drive that fits those requirements but has mediocre reviews and their pro model is $100 more. Should I save up? Unfortunately I can't afford a 0 + 1 array.
What I am thinking now is that I could just buy two individual drives and use one to backup the most vital information from the first (which I will edit off of). That would make editing faster BUT I am afraid transfering over data and updating everything would take forever and I'd make mistakes and risk not backing certain render files up which could make things confusing.
Opinions?
