Raglite Kickstarter

So instead of holding my light on a $25 stand, I have to pay $25 an hour to have a PA hold it. Makes perfect sense. And no, it's NOT the $5 Chinese strip lights mounted on cloth, these are the CINE $5 strip lights mounted on cloth!!!

I don't think you will be using someone to hold this; you will be taping it, hanging it, throwing it around. There is a reason Literibbons are popular.
The price is pretty steep though. And the lack of photometrics and more info on color quality (CRI 95 doesn't say much) doesn't really help.

I like the idea, but feel more confident about purchasing if they were made by LiteGear (LiteRibbon).

Seems unlikely but hope to see them at CineGear.

"100% accurate"!? (Just watched video.) Since when are ANY LEDs 100% accurate. CRI is 89% at best when brand new. Feels a little fraudy to me. Price is ludicrous, especially since LEDs have no long-term value, as next year CRI will be much better, and the year after that even better still, and so on.

Perhaps these are pricey for many DVXusers as it seems every time LiteRibbons get's mentioned in these forums the same argument pervades, but like it or not they are the industry standard & both companies were getting a fair amount of attention at the show.

For much of our international work traveling with larger lights or sourcing locally is often difficult &/or expensive so the Raglites have the potential to save us money.

LiteRibbons has started to custom build some simple lights too. They were showing an LED array mounted on a corrugated white plastic 1x3' that could be powered for hours by a small handful of AA batteries, but could build most any size, & encouraged users to DIY.
