Radio Mechanics, a great new short film.

Last night I had the honor of presenting the short Sci-fi film "Radio Mechanics" and the "first Friday" film showing in Ellensburg Washington. "Radio Mechanics" is a film by Preston Herrich & Jonathan Johnson that touches on a surreal "twilight zone-esk" alien invasion, with a twist. The film is 19 minutes and was shown 4 times yesterday. I must say that I was highly impressed by the overall look and script writing of the film. The lighting was very well done and looked very natural yet dark and moody. The set design was superb, especially the opening scene which has a dark disorderly room with a radio, easy chair and a single lamp. Every scene was meticulously planned and composed, and flowed very naturally and beautifully.

The script was very deep, and requires multiple viewings to get every last detail, but is highly rewarding and entertaining. I felt the acting for the most part was well done (especially for the highly demanding script) but there were a few awkward moments. This is definitely a film that all DVX users should check out, so you can see the DVX at it's best. IT is truly a beautifully dark and entertaining film and I recommend it to all.

THE DVD
The DVD is really packed with content. There is an extensive Behind the Scenes sections, as well as auditions, and outtakes, and directors' commentary. For 10 bucks, you really can't go wrong, especialy if you want to see the DVX in action.
