Qustion about blacking out parts of shot

I accidently shot some name brand cases of soda in a shot. Its a close shot of an actress speaking but in the background, inside an open closet, you can see two cases of diet coke. What would it take to shadow them out naturally as part of the darkness of the closet. It has to look natural and not blurred.

the shot runs about 45 seconds

is this easily accomplished in post or should I re-shoot?

is the camera locked? if so, I would make an adjustment layer, use something like Levels or Exposure, mask off the area, give a light feather to the mask to help it blend in, and then darken that way. If the camera is moving, you will do exactly the same, but you will need to motion track.

It would help if you post a screen shot.

Ill try and post a screen shot. The camera is hand held but held very still on the actress while she's talking

If the actress never crosses in front of the cases, then it shouldn't be that hard, won't need to do anything but the mask (no keyframing/animating the mask). Heck, you can export a frame of it into photoshop to remove what you need to, and put the picture on top of your footage, removing the area the actress is in (basically use the photoshopped image as a plate).....IF she's not crossing in front of it.
