Quicktime with White Screen???

Hi All.

Going crazy here. I bought a new macbook pro yesterday. I copied everything from my G4 over to it. I have FCP 5.0.4 installed on the macbook pro. I am able to watch my hvx200 footage (dvcpro hd) in FCP, but when I try to open the quicktime file (QT Pro 7.2) independant of FCP through Quicktime, all I see is a blank white screen. The audio plays but not the image. What am I missing here? I've searched all sorts of forums and haven't found any concrete leads.

Some say you need FCP installed to have the Codec. I have that, I am able to watch it in FCP, but why not in Quicktime? If anyone can point me in the right direction, that'd be a huge help. -jason

You need to do a full install of FCS first in order to get DVCPRO HD playback in the QT player.

Yes, looks like my problem too...

I may try and copy my FCP/QT components from the old computer into my BOOT DRIVE>LIBRARY>QUICKTIME and see what happens, but they're not universal binary, not sure if they'll work under rosetta with QT running natively. There's no place to find these HDV & DVCproHD components on the Apple site. They want you to buy FCP...
