Quicktime showing as white screen

Hey all,

Someone save me from having to go across the whole of London to solve this!

I filmed a friend's performance on my HVX using a Firestore, downloaded it to a Lacie and gave it to them. It shows as a quicktime .mov on the drive, I could access it on my comp by dragging it to QT, when they do this it shows as a white screen with the sound present.

It suggests downloading a third party app but I can't see one that would help, and I can't remember having done that myself.

I have quicktime pro, they don't. I have FCP 6, they have express HD (latest version), they are up to date with QT. Only other thing that may be an issue is that I recorded with the Firestore using the P2 setting not Quicktime P2.

This is probably an obvious question to someone out there, I'm hoping they can make it obvious to me and save me a day...

Many thanks.

As people have mentioned, he doesnt have the DVCProHD codec unless he has Final Cut Pro, express doesnt come with it. You will need to use compressor to convert the footage to a format that he can read.
